Solitude circuit History;


The Solituderennen Solitudering or (in French circuit of Solitude) is a 11.4 km road circuit near Stuttgart, and named after the nearby Castle Solitude.
Motor sports events were held from 1903 to 1965.
Because of the narrow pathways, only motorcycle events were held until 1956. The track and stands were expanded in early 1957 and racing sports cars and racing have been organized by the Automobile Club ADAC.
Motorcycle Grand Prix took place on this circuit from 1952 to 1964, with the German motorcycle Grand Prix which takes place here in even years: 1952, 1954, 1956, 1958, 1960, 1962 and 1964.
From 1961 to 1964, Grand Prix Formula 1 non-championship were held, in addition to tests of Formula 2 and Formula Junior.
In 2003, a memorial was held, with many former members and vehicles.

I begin work on this track since more than two years, and I try to contacted several times and since the beginning, the original author Martijn on the old Race Sim Central (RSC) forum and Idon't have any answer, I also use their private e-mail address found in the original credit, but the address does not work anymore, so I haven't been able to obtain permits,

I thank Martijn for this track, and his great work to achieve great track and I hope that, if soem day he discover this conversion, he will not Disagree, and he therefore enjoy seeing his work on other platforms,

Can you make this track less attritional, out of 19 AI cars 15 of them broke down on the cool down lap of 3 laps, when AI's breakdown or I press esc after finishing my qualifying lap at least 2 laps get added, I have seen 3 laps added during practice when an AI brokedown, so myself & 15 AI cars all had their times DisQualified, so instead of starting 10th on lap times I started 5th.
If you could at least rectify the lap error at least the qualifying times would stand.
Apart from that this is one of the best tracks I've played on.

Very beautifull and smooth, such a delight to drive with the F1-55 by Team Players... I used that combination to have a real racer graduate on a simrig, after he's gotten used to several simulations. Thanks very much for this very lovely track.

Thank you sooooooooo much for this track!!!

I remember having a HACKED version of this track for ICR2 years ago which was so bad all it had was the track and terrain polygons!

NO TEXTURES, NO TREES NOTHING! (well it had a asphalt texture and sky)

So you can imagine my delight touring this wonderful track for the first time fully fleshed out.

You did a terrific job. Thank you again.

@Alain: Actually, more probs than that (at least in the rF ver; the GTR2 ver is fine except for some FPS stuttering). The textures in the first part of the track are messed up: tearing, smearing, whatever you want to call it. (Texture flashing, per se, is usually car/mod related.) The sky box is screwed up too, with the clouds moving at the speed of the car. Less noticeably, the far horizon jumps around as you travel the length of the pit straight.

OTOH, it is a fantastic track, and I am eternally grateful to you for bring it over from GPL. My second-best win online in GPL came there in a F2 (my best was a stock car victory at the Nurburgring) and I actually got to drive the real-world track a couple of laps in a Porsche 904 GTS when I was the Editor of Car and Driver in the Sixties. Thanks again!

One of my favorites for sure since my GPL days. Nice work. But like someone said before. I'm seeing the tree line "smearing" above and blocking out the sky a good portion of the top part of the track leading up to and shortly beyond that tight left turn downward in the upper left track map you provided. It only happens there and it is does distract a great deal from the immersion of the thing.. Thank you for the track... Mike
