Description (Click to toggle Visibility)

Rfactor Fuel consumption calculator is a simple spreadsheet that calculates the exponential fuel consumption value in the engine.ini file.

It calculates this exponential value based on litres per hour of fuel & peak torque of the engine.

This is the first release with future releases planned.

Current Version 2.2

What's new in Version 2.2

Additional variables have now been added to the calculator these include:

Selection of Engine Aspiration either natural or forced induction

Selection of different Fuel types.

Litres per hour field no longer required this is now calculated by the calculator.

Calculator now works off peak horsepower of engine.

" I look Forward to any feedback in regards to the latest version in comparison with version 1"

Don't click on the Nicola Acciarri link of Jul-27-2012
It links to an Hijacking page.
If you open it quit out of your browser. I have uBlock Origin and Ghostery, I wasn't affected.

Hi All

For all interested, an exciting development has happened with the fuel consumption spreadsheet, a person has taken interest in that is also a programmer, that individual is planning on turning it into a stand alone application.

Ok Thorn, thanks for the info. I was actually looking for some analytical form of calculating fuel usage, as I'm a Physicist and I like this things, but thanks anyway. Actually, I am in your facebook tutorial modding group and I enjoy much your efforts.

Cheers.

I am pleased you enjoying the forum on facebook, if you are physicist, you maybe able to create the tool you are after, as I said unfortunately there are too many variables to consider, as I am not a physicist I am limited in my ability to come up with such analytical programs I can only create things to come out with an answer.

Thorn, could you please unlock the sheet for we to know how you calculated FuelConsumption?

How does this relate to FuelUsage of a track? I'd like to know how calculate FuelUsage of tracks in order to correct tracks with wrong FuelUsage estimate.

Thanks.

The sheet is locked for a reason, and that is the way it's meant to be, I went to a lot of work to create this spreadsheet and locked sheet for a reason and intend on it to stay that way, this does not relate to fuelusage of a track only the car, if you want to calculate the fuel consumption for tracks, then there is a little program developed by ISI called AIW editor, which is more accurate then anything I would possibly be able to develop for track fuel usage, I recommend that, I was going to bring out a further version of Rfactor fuel consumption calculator which was going to estimate track fuel usage but this won't happen due to the accuracy of the AIW editor so I don't see the point, there are too many variables to consider, the formula's I came up with were about +/- 0.3% out which is very close but AIW editor is 100% accurate, there will be a further revision for the fuel consumption calcultor as mentioned in comments but I don't know when that will happen as I am involved in some modding that is more of a priority for me at the moment.

Hi ElvioLador

Yes this would be possible but at present my priorities in regards to projects involving Rfactor lie elsewhere at present so I couldn't give you a definitive answer as to when I could make this alternative version available, however as a result of you asking it is now on my to do list

Dear Thorn, trying your sheet with Excel 2007 gives a "read only" error when I attempt to change the selection in the aspiration combo box.

Since you want to protect your sheet, can be possible to have two columns that makes this calc ? one for natural aspiration and one for forced induction? to avoid spreading curses for the 'Microsoft's non sense changes' in security.

Thank you
