Description (Click to toggle Visibility)

Update 8-31-08 . I'm getting a lot of the physics worked out. I have the engine as close to the real street version as I think rFactor allows. I'm also thinking about doing a race version or making it as an up-grade. There's a lot more to learn then I thought, LOL!

Up-date 10-3-2008. Work continues slowly on the Cobalt, It's a fun drive when I get the chance to run it.

Up-date 01-03-09. Happy New Year. Well one of the other projects I'm working on is taking longer then I thought, but I should have something up for this by the end of the month. A full street version. Now I would love to have some one make a good car model for this since I can't seem to wrap my head around it myself.

Up-date and beta link 01-27-09 OK, here's the first beta version of the street cat. All info is based off the 2005 model year. There are some issues that are being worked on, the car model is very low quality, so don't expect much there. I'm hoping to hear back from someone about the car soon.

Up-Date Sat. March 24th, 2009. Here is the second beta for the Chevy Cobalt SS mod. I'd like to thank everyone for the feedback, especially Timex who has helped allot to get the mod to this stage. He's become my second set of eyes and catching the things I seamed to be missing. Thanks again my friend.

What's been fixed.

The over heating problem is gone, We've also added all the colors that the car was available in 2005, plus two others that weren't and a few other bits and bobs. We're also trying to learn how to redo the car, but it's going painfully slow.

I've had this version up to 150 MPH at a track called Legions, the straight was over two miles long, so the car does have some speed to it as is, but by the final release, if all goes well there will be a full fledged race car option.

Next up, up-grading to "Pro-Street"(in-game up-grade menu) with a 400 HP engine with the same chassis settings.

Up-date 4-25-09;

I'm working on the upgrades for the mod at this time, what I'm doing is making the engine , suspension, tranny and a few others to get to full race mode. Once this is done and everything is satisfactory to me I'll release beta 3 and that will probably be the last beta version, after that the only thing to release would be a better car model and interior for the car. This mod could be done by the end of the year if someone with the skills needed to do the model and interior.

Again we appreciated the feedback.

Beta 3 has just been up-loaded and posted. It is no where race ready, the numbers aren't right and I'm terrible at math, I can't even begin to tell you all how bad, LOL! What I and the mod needs is for some one who can do the math to please fix the few things that need fixed and send them to in_the_hole_productions@yahoo.com Also the Z Modeler and 3D Max files are in the vehicle folder, if anyone who knows how to turn these in to a flat can they please also send it to the same address. This mod has gotten this far from the community giving great feed back, not my work, this is more you mod then mine and I thank each and everyone of you for the help. If we can get these few things don I believe we'll have an outstanding mod on our hands. Once again thank you for all the help and guidance.

We're basically at a stand still, what seems to be needed to finish the mod can not be done by the people working on it. The model needs to be cleaned up, an inteieor needs to be rebuilt, a templated needs to be made and the lights need to be "turned on" other then that I think we're about as close to the final as we can get without these things being done.

I'd like to thak everyone for the feedback and help to this point and hope we get the help to finish this mod by the end of the year, if not sooner.

By the way, this mod has not been built with "real feel" I personally don't like it and don't use it.

Gentlemen.

If I may, I have done some work to this mod... nothing on physics, yet... but have cleaned up the graphics, and textures.

Here is a gallery of screenshots, showing the progress.. I hope you don't mind me taking the liberty to try my hand at this little gem.

The mod is great so far...
Racing upgrade shuts my rfactor down...
and areas around the door handles and keyholes are black no mater what clour of th car is...
This being said the mod is still a lot of fun can't wait till the final version.

Since the only feedback given is about stuff we already know and don't know how to fix, the question nags to release version 1 and any fixes after that as up-dates.
