Thanks to everyone who voted Longford (v0.9) into 4th place in the Track of the Year poll here in rFC's MOTY 2010!
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
A scratch built Longford 1967-ish. Public roads around Longford, Tasmania, used for the Tasman Series, touring cars and bikes in the 50's and 60's. Some top line drivers raced there in the day, including a bunch of F1 world champs.

The circuit was last used for the 1968 event, and these days some of the the roads have changed. Some bits of road have been torn up for the sake of a highway. both bridges have been pulled down. a big levee wall has raised a section of road. isolated bits of road have been neglected and in one area there is a power substation right in the middle of the track. Fortunately the pub is still there and features a sort of museum dedicated to the track.

Made with Bob's Track Builder & 3dsMax.
v0.9 used some grass textures from VLM Rouen with permission, thanks VLM, Elwood and Madhorse. Most textures are now scratch-made.

A small number of building models are/were from an existing GPL wip (not made by me), and Gustaf from the team has allowed me to use some of the models (some of which have been replaced). thanks Gustaf!

Hi fkzet,
Are you running in Dx9 with all the textures at max? I'm not sure if that would make a difference, but it might. Also, sometimes sky issues might be related to the commonmaps.mas in the Locations folder, but I made an effort to have the Longford skies independent of that. Re-installing the track might not help either, but it's worth a try i guess. Just make sure it's at Locations/Longford/Longford1967/Longford1967.scn etc

Awsome track. Awsome selection and great effort on it. Bumps, straights, its classic good track with sections and corners to remember, interesting surface and corner-specific unique requirements. Thanks You for that!

But i have no sky at all... It could be mine cus rfactor folder is big. I have some problems with sky on other tracks, sometimes sky is to short and you can see eptyness with buffered grapchics.

Any tips how to fix it ?:>

I think the only time I've seen loading bars not progress there has always been a "can't find xxx etc" message waiting when I've alt+tabbed out due to the crash. I don't really know what is happening that's stopping you loading it.
woochoo on Mar-21-2013

Hi Woochoo, I did not have a previous version so far I can recall.

I will delete the current Longford folder and try a reinstall.

Next to that: No there are no error messages and no I did not have any crash to desktop.

Again the sunny and cloudy versions of the track are loading without any problem (within 30 secs), but the rain version of the track will not load at all (loadbar is still empty after 10 minutes loading).

PS: I enjoy both the tracks that work very much; great drive all the way to the finish line - good job!
stone3d on Mar-19-2013

Hi Ston3d, if you had a previous version, did you delete it before installing v1.0? In any case, have you tried deleting the current Longford folder and reinstalling? Are there any error messages or does it CTD?
woochoo on Mar-18-2013

Downloaded the track; looks great - sunny and cloudy version are allright, but; the rain version will not load... anyone else got the same problem?
stone3d on Mar-18-2013

Melchi, I'm not sure what the problem is. The cars are meant to be parked in the paddock, on the grass, under or behind the pit building. Were they parked somewhere else for you?
woochoo on Mar-17-2013

i had problem with the pit in case of the old version. the cars were just standing on the grass so it didn't look like a real pit.
does this problem occure in the new version as well?

brilliant!! i dont know how accutate the track is, but its seems very very good everything from textures to buildings just everything.

you should try your hand at Symmons and Baskerville. a couple of attempts have been made at each (i helped out with the very first) but they both need redoing
