Série Internationale Du Mans
Version 2.77

The Série Internationale Du Mans mod is loosely based on the European and American Le Mans racing series. This mod includes cars for the LM-P1, LM-P2, LM-GT1 and LM-GT2 classes. This special public version of the mod is actually a customized version of a larger, full-sized version of the mod that contains 22 different cars, however for reasons which have been thoroughly explained in the official, online ReadMe file, the full version of the mod has been restricted for the private use of the following private leagues:

• Champion Motorsports: http://www.cmsracing.com

• Virtual Online Racers: http://gplvor.speedgeezers.net

• ILMS Endurance Racing League: http://www.ilms-erl.com/

• LBN (NASCAR Brazil): http://www.nascarbrasil.com

• Australian Online Gamers: http://www.australianonlinegamers.com/

Please note that although some of these leagues require a donation for participation in their series, these donations are NOT required as payment for the mod! The Carpe Noctem Design Group DOES NOT make any money from the distribution of this mod. Any requested donations are for the sole purpose of helping to offset some of the league's operating costs, such as the rental of forum and race servers. If you have any questions about these donations please be sure to contact the league's administrative staff directly! Carpe Noctem Design Group is not responsible for the membership policies of these officially approved leagues.

The release of version 2.77 essentially represents the final culmination of several years of work, research, testing and development for the Série Internationale Du Mans mod. The most significant feature of this release of the mod is the addition of a new suspended chassis configuration for each of the cars.

Prior to the release of version 2.77 the cars did not suffer any sort of significant penalty for using a ride height that was either too high or too low. In fact, you could lower the chassis to the absolute minimum settings and still not suffer any sort of damage because of the chassis bottoming out. Conversely you could raise the chassis and not suffer much in the form of aerodynamic drag. The addition of the new suspended chassis configurations is the most significant aspect of version 2.77 because it causes each car respond in a much more realistic manner when it comes to making vertical changes in your setup and as you drive around the track and experience the various vertical undulations of the track itself.

Because the cars are now capable of bottoming out each car has been re-tuned with a new default setup that includes a ride height that is higher than it was in previous versions of the mod. Naturally, this increased ride height also increases the vertical center of gravity for each car and in turn, this enhances the dynamic weight shifts of the car under acceleration, braking and cornering. That said… the bottom line is that you're going to feel the car moving and responding more than before as the chassis weight shifts due to the changing road configuration, track conditions and driver input.

It’s also important to remember that the cars of the ILMS mod continue to respond as before to any increase in down force, or while driving on a track that generates high vertical G-loads, such as the Dayton Road Course. If you have experience with the Série Internationale Du Mans mod you’re probably already familiar with the fact that your tires may begin to overheat as the car is pressed harder into the ground from the increased down force. The difference however is that now you may also see and experience the negative effects of the chassis bottoming out as a result of the increased down force or any significant increase in vertical G-loading.

The nature of these new suspension configurations also means that your previous setups are unlikely to work. Fortunately, we've spent a considerable amount of time developing new default setups. These new default setups should go a long way toward helping you fine tune your setups for the track conditions. Nevertheless, when it comes to developing a new setup the one thing that will help you most is reading the official Série Internationale Du Mans setup guide and making sure that you understand the types of changes that you can make to your setup in order to dial-out or dial-in specific handling characteristics. Remember, understanding what changes you can or should make to your setups and the fundamental key to successfully competing with these cars.

Finally, we would like to add a special thanks to Jpbs for his permission to use the Audi R8, Pescarolo C60 and Dome S101 models for our conversion. The Lola was converted from the Sports Car Challenge mod for GTR which was given a free pass for conversion and use by it’s original creators, RSDG as long as they are mentioned in the credits, which we have done in the ReadMe file. The Corvette C6R model was originally created by the modding team of Arnold Wong and Klaas van Houten, (Team RMT). The Aston Martin DBR9 was originally released as a mod for rFactor by EdOg. EdOg has given his permission to utilize his DBR9 3ds model so long as he is given proper credit for the original modeling work. And the Acura ARX, Ferrari F430, Porsche 997 GT3 RSR and Porsche RS Spyder models have been incorporated with the permission of the original modeler for these cars, Ibne. Nevertheless, despite the use of these raw 3D models, the physics of the mod have been developed by the Carpe Noctem Design Group.

That’s about it. We're very excited about this release and we think and hope you'll enjoy driving this final version of the Série Internationale Du Mans mod as much as we've enjoyed developing and testing it. Have Fun and happy racing and don't forget to review the full text of the ReadMe documentation along with the Setup Guide.

Bonne chance!

by Rui.f.martins on 06-Feb-10

I really dont understand your comment Rui, sorry. You should be able to find a simple guide on how to join the VOR leagues from the website i posted in a previous comment. Ryan M.

by General_RIMT on 02-Feb-10

Hi there I also have that problem with the acura cars, both in LM-P1 and LM-P2. I would also like to kmow if someone could tell me what are the leagues that do not require a donation and if they accept rookie menbers. Thank you

Why the Acura Arx at both LMP1 and LMP2 the medium rev engine sound is lost? there are sounds at low rev and high rev but medium rev is quiet. Does anyone met this problem before?
by Sam92 on 27-Jan-10

Search f1classic forum for ilms, you will find 2.65 full and a separate pack of R10 and 908, combine these with the 2.77 public found here, u will have a complete full version.
by Sam92 on 20-Jan-10

found the two cars from the 2.75 version that i need to complete the mod. i didnt realize the conspiracy around this version and why they werent included in the public version, now i do and for those reasons i will not get involved. however, i assure you, search and you will find. use the series name and not the mod name.
