re: F3 Euro 2007 olddog - I had same issue. I solved it by.....errrr.......maybe installing rF/ISI F3 mod? Or maybe it was by installing earlier season version of this mod.........ie 2006?

re: Gp2 Series 2006 brumesp - Hi guys. i'm new here and i dont know anything about mods. What should I do to install this mod?
----------
download it, run the exe, point it to rfactor.
load up rfactor..........choose the mod from the vehicle/mod selection screen.
Same thing for all the mods really........
if it's a .rar file, or a .zip archive, just open the archive and look at the folder structure........than just move it into rfactor in the appropriate place.......
Generally no changes are required when installing mods - just run the .exe, or just extract the archive into rfactor (in the appropriate place, of course).
For instance all tracks should be in their own folder, located at
rfactor/gamedata/locations/*trackfolder*
clear enough? ;)

re: F1 2006 CTDP At bottom, the complaint is just a grumble that this mod will outstrip the performance of a particular graphics card and PC.
If the only mods available ran fine on my old 7600GT then I wouldn't have needed my new ATI HD 4850, would I? ;)
so, bring it on, CTDP!
:)
Incidentally, I highly recommend ATI 4850. What used to only be playable in 16 bit, dx8, 1024x768 on a 7600GT is now dx9, 32bpp, 1600x1200+ on 4850.
And only £108..........great deal.

re: Sounds are very good. (Apart from that chicken! :) )
How can i replace the chicken and make the skidding sound like, say, HistoriX Escort?

re: thanks for the update. :)
First - I think this car is really very good.
But I've never driven it much because I couldn't stand the brake sounds. I tried changing them myself, but nothing seemed to make a difference.......i changed the sample, renamed samples, edited the .sfx...all to no avail.
So I do hope you've changed that. I don't mean to be rude, but the tyre squeals stopped me playing - they used to sound like
a) - a chicken, or
b) - a tyrannosaurus rex , or
c) - someone doing an impression of an 8 year old child doing an impression of a car skidding - eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
I couldn't get those images out of my head, lol - sorry - so I couldn't persist. Which is a shame.
Other than that, it's pretty much spot-on, I think, and perhaps the best street car available.
If you haven't changed the brake sounds, can you give me a pointer as to how to do it? (Offending you and then asking for help? :) )

re: 1995 CART Season borica - look under
rfactor/userdata/
find the folder named after your rfactor profile/player
in there, look for a file called *your player name*.plr
rightclick that playerfile, and choose "open with" and select notepad. change the relevant text, and close the file, clicking "yes" to "save changes?"
(Substitute your own player name for where I've written *your player name*)

re: 1995 CART Season Only had limited tryout - but it feels, looks, sounds and performs really good. Esp as a V1. :) Nice one.
@coolmike: "It's soooo nice to finally see another openwheel mod other than not so good 2000 something F1 mods. "
Have you tried the Nippon 06 1.2 mod? Best openwheeler mod by a distance imo. It seems ignored because it isn't a glamour product - shame, I think it's excellent. It seems more rewarding than almost any other mod imo - it seems about as realistic as it gets in rF (imo !)
----------
As for the "too easy" thing......I don't know why people think cars should be "difficult" to drive. Why would a properly set-up race-car be difficult to drive? "Difficult to be amongst the fastest" is quite different to being "difficult to drive". In real-life you'd have g-forces to contend with - you'd have natural FEAR to contend with - you'd have pressure - financial constraints. That's a totally different ball-game, errr......lol
Do people really think wealthy people have some particular skill which enables them to drive real race cars? Skills which presumably the rest of us are lacking? Or is it WEALTH that is the most basic factor? Sure - the top guys are good. But even Senna had to get to UK somehow - and he didn't get here on fresh-air, did he?
IMO, after money, real life racing requires stupid amounts of desire to go fast, more than anything. In a simulator, with no threat of physical danger, that's a helluva lot easier to pursue than it is in real life. Then there's skill, mechanical knowledge and the rest of it, of course. But driving itself is really NOT difficult - even my mother can manage it........
It's perfectly plausible that a really badly programmed "arcadey" race-car could be more difficult to drive than a well programmed "realistic" sim-car - or even a REAL racecar. However, going faster than anyone else is something entirely different.

re: Silverstone 1988 thanks :)
Why is there no repository for AIWs here at rFC?
I know there's the AI files here, but they're mod specific aren't they?
--what's the relationship between AIWs and the mod-specific ones?
--where's the best resource for AIWs??

re: 1 800 Raceway @ brother dave
check your rfactor directory -
rfactor/gamedata/vehicles/fsone/2007/equipos/
and in there should be the file "Tyres-2007.mas"
is it there?

re: BMW M1 ProCar 1979-1980 @PTRACER
AI in rF is crap.
4 things to try, though neither are a real solution.
1) turn aggression slider down to like 20% or so. I find that helps prevent AI shunting me.
2) run the AI "learning" routine. Explained here:
http://forum.rscnet.org/showthread.php?t=262652
3) Shout and scream "YOu stupid F***&^&%^%^$^ useless sodding ^&^&&%^^^& b&^&&%"
4) Turn number of AI cars down to ZERO. ;)
Number 2 might help you out. But I wouldn't expect much from it, tbh. AI in rF is seriously bad - endlessly annoying, and makes offline racing almost pointless imo. I tend to just hotlap.

re: Excellent track. Two criticisms - the haybales, and the bumpiness.....
Was it really so bumpy? Makes me feel quite exhausted and queasy in open wheelers.....lol

re: NIPPON Racing IMO the most convincing open wheel mod out there.
Excellent. Should be HOF imo. I love those chunky tyres, really effective 'racey' sounds, plus a good car model and excellent physics giving very positive feedback with RealFeel too.
Could do with a few more top-drawer skins though, that's all.
Thank you very much - really good fun.

re: FSONE 2007 One issue I'm having is a noticeable flanging on the sounds, which is quite considerable compared to 06.....and yet I'm sure I read the sounds are "the same"?
The sounds aren't identical, are they?

re: FSONE 2007 "I didn't research exactly, just top of my head I knew it was that low. "
How low, exactly? lol. You don't know - yet kick up a song and dance that "it's wrong".
Well, there we are. That's the long, tall and short of it - you "didn't research exactly" yet claim FSONE should have.
And as someone else pointed out - nobody knows the exact settings because such things are highly protected by the teams themselves - even photo studies of crucial parts are prevented because it gives data away to competitors. So anybody claiming they "know" exactly how it should be is talking through their derriere.
So people "think" it should be different? Fine - go make it how it "should be" then, and treat us all? Until that happens, we'll all have to make do with as close as we can get, right? This mod exists - the perfect one doesn't. YOU haven't made it yet, have you?

re: FSONE 2007 after reading that comment, i thought I'd go try Interlagos and have a look.
first of all - you don't have to have a driver. second, what is wrong with the arms? they're static. Third - which version of interlagos you on about - mine isn't bouncy.
I watched the AI going around, and found myself thinking "Wow - they look really fantastic!" Seriously - the cars are excellent - handling, liveries, framerate - everything is pretty much spot-on imo.
People must be badly losing perspective to be so critical. What have they been playing? I've downloaded every single thing I can get my hands on, and I'm fussy about what I spend my time on - but this is really good. After demise of Crammond and the disaster that befell GP4's rushed release, I never expected another F1 game to deliver - they were all rubbish. This knocks spots off all those professional efforts, which were SOLD for £35. It must be so disheartening to read all the unwarranted and frankly silly and nasty criticism for a huge amount of effort that was put in FOR THE COMMUNITY. (FOR FREE!)
Anyway - I for one am extremely grateful, FSOne - I think you've done a great job. Please don't let the detractors sap your spirit, difficult as it must be.
