re: Audi R10 TDI The four screenshots posted by davewi are nothing to do with our car whatsoever. The renders are indeed of our car, albeit an old iteration of it. No screenshots yet, sorry.

re: Chevrolet Camaro 2008 Just a tip, you may want to ensure you have the scaling of your blueprints correct before you get too far... you could always rescale/proportion at the end but it's better practice to be correct from the get-go :)
edit: just occured to me that the screenshot itself might be mis-proportioned, in which case ignore :P

re: CART Factor Funnily enough the release WILL only be announced when it's ready..
Sounds are getting there. At the end of the day we're a very small team, with a core development crew of 5 people. And we do what we do how we want to, and when we want to. Personally I'm the 3D modeller for this project, and through its duration I've been reading engineering at university and specialising in aerodynamics. That's that little real life thing..

re: GZ Street_GP Yup, as the Lonely says most of the top modders are now heading (or have already gone) to one of the sim companies who can pay for their talents. He's one of the top three trackmakers for rF anyway, and from what I know isn't tied to any company. It's a different situation from Hudson since he was "just" making (admittedly very good) texture updates, even if that's a whole other kettle of fish... though he's kinda a good example since he now works for iRacing :P
Simioni has gone to Simbin to try and redirect their physics department, most of the great old skool guys I remember and worked with through the GP3/early F1C days are already at Blimey or Simbin. Critically they're now getting paid to do something they enjoy, what's so hard to grasp about that? The ONLY difference here is that the item is being made available as an addon for rFactor, rather than stock content in a standalone sim (which is more expensive there? you're still paying for a payware modder's work really).
People often compain about the lack of quality, or rather the imbalance between quantity and quality. SUPPORTING the best modders is the ONLY way this imbalance will be rectified - lynching them and making them martyrs for wanting some compensation for something that is, done properly and from scratch, a quite insane amount of work is a horrific reaction. And another reason why a lot of modders are abandoning working in the community and going somewhere they can both be respected and be paid for doing something they love - to work. Some would call it selling out, I call it doing something you love for a living.
Having said all that licensing's a seperate issue, I noticed that Macau is listed for $10 on that site and he could run into some issues with that one.
